Start an exciting IT career with David Nieper!

David Nieper is offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic IT Apprentice to begin their career within a successful British fashion manufacturer and family-run business with over 60 years of heritage. Based in Alfreton, David Nieper designs and manufactures premium ladies’ fashion entirely in the UK and is recognised for its commitment to quality, sustainability, and investing in the development of its people.

The company is looking for a motivated individual who is passionate about IT and eager to learn and develop within a professional working environment. The ideal candidate will have confident communication skills, a positive attitude, and a genuine interest in technology and problem solving. The successful apprentice will become part of a friendly and supportive IT team, gaining hands-on experience across a range of areas including IT support, systems, networking, and digital technologies. The team will provide guidance and support throughout the apprenticeship, helping the apprentice build valuable technical and workplace skills.

Alongside workplace learning, the apprentice will complete their training through Baltic Apprenticeships, attending structured 2-day training blocks every 4–6 weeks. This combination of practical experience and dedicated training will provide a strong foundation for a successful career in IT.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification, delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:
Provide day-to-day technical support to staff by responding to IT issues and helping to resolve problems.

Assist with setting up, configuring, and maintaining computers, software, and other IT equipment.

Support the management of user accounts, including password resets and access requests.

Help diagnose and fix basic hardware, software, and network issues, escalating more complex problems when needed.

Keep accurate records of IT issues, updates, and resolutions using the company’s support system.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge

Passionate about IT and technology, with a strong willingness to learn.

Working towards or aiming to obtain a full UK driving licence.

Confident communication skills, both written and verbal.

Basic knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office applications.

Grade 4 in GCSE Maths & Grade 5 in GCSE English.

GCSEs in IT/Computer Science (or related subject) preferred.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:
£16,224 per annum.

8:30am-4:30pm Monday to Friday.

This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we’ll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT.

You’ll get hands-on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one-to-one support, you’ll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT.

You’ll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real-time classes with our expert trainers and self-paced courses created by industry specialists.
