Senior Architectural Technologist

Location: Manchester

Alfred Recruitment is working with an established AJ100 architectural practice looking to strengthen its Manchester team with an experienced Senior Architectural Technologist.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected, nationally established practice with a diverse project portfolio and a strong technical team.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality architectural information, taking ownership of projects from RIBA Stage 4 through to completion and working closely with Architects, consultants, contractors and the wider design team.

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with the confidence to manage their own workload, coordinate complex information and help drive projects through to successful delivery.

The Role

As Senior Architectural Technologist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking ownership of technical project delivery from RIBA Stage 4 through to completion.
  • Producing and developing detailed technical drawings, specifications and construction information.
  • Preparing, coordinating and issuing accurate working drawing packages.
  • Coordinating architectural information with external consultants and other design disciplines.
  • Liaising with main contractors, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
  • Attending design team meetings, contractor meetings and site visits.
  • Identifying and resolving technical detailing and coordination issues.
  • Monitoring technical deliverables to ensure accuracy, quality and programme compliance.
  • Working autonomously while collaborating effectively with the wider project team.

About You

We're keen to speak with experienced Architectural Technologists who can demonstrate:

  • 10+ years' post-qualification experience in architectural technical delivery.
  • Proven experience delivering projects through the technical design and construction stages.
  • A strong understanding of RIBA Stage 4 onwards.
  • Advanced AutoCAD skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Revit, which would be highly desirable.
  • Excellent technical detailing and construction information skills.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design information.
  • Confidence liaising with contractors and attending site meetings.
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to take responsibility for projects and work independently.
  • Experience within a multidisciplinary architectural practice.
  • A full UK driving licence, preferably.
