Architectural Technologist

Stirling

Bracewell is looking to expand its architectural team with the appointment of a talented Architectural Technologist based in our Stirling studio.

As a growing architectural practice, we help clients shape, develop and deliver sustainable, distinctive and commercially robust projects across Scotland and the UK. Our work spans housing, residential development, mixed-use projects and a wider range of architectural sectors, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to contribute to varied and meaningful work from early design stages through to technical delivery and completion.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Architectural Technologist who enjoys the technical development of projects, takes pride in well-coordinated information and wants to play an important role within a collaborative architectural practice.

Working closely with Project Architects, Partners and the wider design team, you will support the delivery of projects across key stages, with a particular focus on housing and residential work. You will help develop design proposals into robust technical packages, prepare information for statutory approvals, coordinate with consultants and contractors, and contribute to the successful delivery of projects on site.

We are looking for someone who combines strong technical ability with a practical understanding of construction, detailing and project coordination. You should be confident working as part of a project team, while also being capable of taking responsibility for defined technical packages and managing project tasks independently.

The role will suit someone who is organised, collaborative and technically assured, with the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, consultants, clients, local authorities and contractors. You will be joining a supportive studio environment where good ideas are valued, professional development is encouraged and everyone has the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A qualification in Architectural Technology or a closely related discipline.
  • Experience working within an architectural practice or similar built environment setting.
  • Experience in housing or residential projects.
  • Strong technical detailing and construction knowledge.
  • A good understanding of statutory approvals, Building Standards and technical coordination.
  • The ability to support Project Architects across design, technical and construction stages.
  • The confidence to lead technical delivery packages independently.
  • The ability to manage projects directly where appropriate.
  • Strong written, verbal and graphic communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work under own initiative.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp.
  • Revit capability would be desirable.

In Return, We Offer:

  • Salary dependent on experience.
  • Annual performance bonus.
  • Clear opportunities for career progression.
  • The opportunity to play a key role in housing and residential projects across Scotland.
  • Varied project opportunities across a range of sectors.
  • A supportive, collaborative and professional studio culture.
  • Private healthcare following successful completion of probation.
  • Enhanced company pension scheme.
  • A studio-based working environment, with an element of hybrid working considered.

Bracewell operates from studios in Stirling, Inverness and Oban. This role will be based in our Stirling studio, within Stirling University Innovation Park, offering an excellent working environment with on-site amenities including cafés and corporate membership rates at the University Sports Centre.

At Bracewell, you will work alongside experienced architects, technologists, urban designers and consultants in a collaborative setting. You will have the opportunity to contribute to projects that are technically robust, commercially deliverable and designed to create long-term value for clients and communities.

If you are an ambitious Architectural Technologist looking to develop your career within a growing practice, we would be pleased to hear from you.
