This is a varied role suited to someone with previous design experience, strong presentation skills, good planting knowledge and the confidence to communicate with both new enquiries and existing clients.
Luxury Gardens designs and creates refined, considered outdoor spaces for private residential clients, with a focus on quality, atmosphere, planting, materials and careful detailing. We are looking for someone creative, organised and professional who can support both the design process and the wider project journey.
The Role
You will be supporting the team across a range of design, client and project tasks, including:
- Communicating with new client enquiries in a professional and helpful manner
- Discussing potential garden projects with prospective clients and gathering key information
- Supporting existing garden design and build projects
- Assisting with client communication, project notes, and follow-up actions
- Helping prepare mood boards, material palettes and client design presentation documents
- Supporting the development of 2D garden design concepts, annotations and presentation layouts
- Working with AutoCAD drawings and assisting with layout amendments where required
- Preparing and updating InDesign presentation documents
- Researching plants, materials, furniture, lighting and outdoor kitchen options
- Assisting with design revisions and client presentation updates
- Helping organise project information, supplier details, imagery and design references
- Attending site visits, consultations or project meetings where required
Depending on experience, there may also be opportunities to assist with planting plans, visual references, site notes and wider design coordination.
Key Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone with:
- Previous design experience, ideally within garden design, landscape design, interiors, architecture or a related creative field
- Experience using InDesign to prepare polished presentation documents, mood boards or client design packages
- Experience using AutoCAD for 2D plans, layouts or drawing amendments
- A good eye for layout, proportion, materials, colour and presentation
- Strong planting knowledge, including an understanding of plant combinations, seasonal interest, texture, structure and suitability
- Confidence communicating with new enquiries and existing clients in a professional and helpful way
- Good written English and the ability to prepare clear project notes, client updates and design information
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to support multiple projects at different stages
- An interest in high-end residential garden design, outdoor living and premium client service
- Ability to travel to London and Surrey for consultations, site visits and project meetings when required
Previous experience in garden design would be preferred, although we would also consider someone from an interior, landscape, or architectural design background with a strong interest in gardens, planting, and outdoor spaces.
About You
You will need to be creative, organised and confident, with previous design experience and a genuine interest in high-end residential gardens.
You should be comfortable working with both visual design material and technical drawings, with good experience in InDesign and AutoCAD. You will also need to be comfortable communicating with clients, recording information accurately and supporting projects in a calm, professional and organised way.
A good understanding of planting is important, as our projects are highly design-led, and planting is a key part of the overall atmosphere, structure and quality of the gardens we create.
