Full job description

This isn’t a “hit your numbers and move on” sales role. It’s about understanding how things are built, how decisions are made, and where the real opportunities sit before anyone else spots them.

At Farrat, we design and deliver engineering solutions that solve complex structural, thermal and acoustic challenges. The people who succeed here don’t just sell products, they help shape better outcomes for projects and long-term partnerships.

This is a field-based role covering London and the South. You’ll spend most of your time with clients and in the market, with the flexibility to plan your own schedule and work from home when needed.

What you’ll actually be doing

You’ll be responsible for growing your area in a way that makes sense commercially and sustainably, not just chasing short-term wins.

That means:

  • Spotting opportunities early and turning them into real work
  • Building relationships with engineers, fabricators and contractors that go beyond one project
  • Leading the full sales cycle, from first conversation through to delivery
  • Translating technical detail into something clients can trust and act on
  • Being out in the market, listening properly, and feeding that back into how we evolve

You’ll also play a key role internally, working with marketing, technical teams and leadership to shape where we go next, not just how we sell today.

What this role needs from you

You don’t need to tick every box, but the following will matter:

  • A track record of winning and growing business, ideally in a technical or construction-related environment
  • Confidence running a sales process end-to-end, including pricing and negotiations
  • The ability to build long-term relationships rather than relying on quick wins
  • A commercial mindset, you understand margin as well as revenue
  • Curiosity about how things work, and enough technical interest to hold your own in conversations

If you’ve worked in technical sales, engineering solutions, or construction products, that’s a strong plus. But mindset and approach matter more than a perfect CV.

What’s different about this role

  • You’re not handed a script. You shape your approach
  • You’ll have real visibility of how your work contributes to the bigger picture
  • The product is genuinely technical, so the conversations are more interesting and impactful
  • You’ll be part of a team that shares insight, not just targets

Benefits

  • Annual bonus
  • Holidays starting at 36 days rising to 41 (inc bank holidays)
  • Holiday rentals in Nice, France and Scotland at subsided rates
  • Electrical vehicle salary sacrifice scheme
  • Additional annual leave purchase scheme
  • Paid volunteering days
  • Paid compassionate leave
  • Pension with up to 10% employer contribution
  • Flexible working hours & hybrid working
  • Health insurance, employee assistance programme
  • Private medical cover
  • Enhanced maternity/paternity pay
  • Long service awards
  • Paid for company events + much more
