Main Purpose of the Role

Teacher of Art and Design (Fixed Term for up to 12 Months - Maternity Cover) - PKC13969

Perth Academy

You have the opportunity to join our Art department as an Art teacher.

You will be responsible for the following:

  • Teaching assigned classes together with associated preparation and correction.
  • Developing the school curriculum led by your Principal Teacher.
  • Assisting, recording and reporting on the work of pupils.
  • Preparing pupils for examinations and assisting with their administration.
  • Providing advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education.
  • Promoting and safeguarding the health, welfare and safety of pupils including fulfilling the role of Home Room Tutor.
  • Working in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals.
  • Undertaking appropriate and agreed continuing professional development.
  • Participating in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and individual review.

If you have lived overseas for a period of 12 months or more (continuous or total) within the last 10 years, whilst over the age of 18, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check.

GTCS registration is required.

A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of the above mentioned mandatory pre-employment checks (including references) and will also include eligibility to work in the UK, qualifications and fitness to undertake the post.
