Leader Group is proud to be partnering with a renowned therapeutic education service provider to recruit a passionate SEND Art Teacher. We currently have an outstanding opportunity within an established school based in Stockport.

About the Role:

You will specialise in leading and delivering Art up to GCSE level to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and additional needs.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Art Teacher with experience teaching pupils with ASC and additional behavioural needs to join a specialist team. As part of a nurturing and innovative environment, your responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching and supporting students with a range of special educational needs (SEND).
  • Teaching pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Delivering engaging and differentiated Art lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Setting, marking and providing constructive feedback on classwork, homework and assessments.
  • Supporting pupils to develop effective communication skills and confidence across the curriculum.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Passionate about working with pupils with SEND.
  • Holds a specialism in Art.
  • Has ideally at least two years’ experience in a SEND or similar setting supporting pupils with ASC and additional needs, including mainstream schools.
  • Possesses Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), which is essential.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of EHCPs and autism-informed practice.
  • Is calm, organised and committed to making a positive difference through teaching.
