AI Creative Director - Fashion & Community
NewArc | London, United Kingdom | Full-time | On-site
Workplace: 90 York Way, London N1 9AG
Salary: £52,000 gross per year
Reports to: CEO
About NewArc
NewArc helps fashion and footwear teams develop ideas, explore design options and create product imagery and video with AI. Our platform brings together tools for working from sketches, experimenting with materials and colours, and presenting products in a clear visual context.
We are looking for an AI Creative Director who combines creative and commercial leadership, practical experience with generative AI, a background in fashion business, and a track record of building international professional communities.
About the role
You will lead the creative direction of NewArc's showcases, customer use cases and creator programmes. You will connect what the technology can do with how fashion teams develop, communicate and market their ideas.
Working with the CEO and product team, you will define creative briefs, guide contributors, evaluate AI workflows and turn successful experiments into examples that customers can use. You will also develop a community of designers, creators and educators who learn from each other and contribute to the platform's development.
What you will do
- Set the creative direction for campaigns, product demonstrations and fashion use cases, from the initial brief to the selection and review of final work.
- Develop repeatable AI workflows for creative research, concept development, visual storytelling and marketing content.
- Compare models and workflows using clear evaluation criteria. Assess how well outputs meet the brief, maintain brand consistency and support the intended design or communication task.
- Bring a practical understanding of fashion and accessories brand development, product positioning and manufacturing collaboration to customer projects and creative briefs.
- Build a programme of creator collaborations, workshops, design challenges and community events. Recruit and support contributors, ambassadors and local organisers.
- Work with fashion brands, creative teams and education partners to develop useful demonstrations, learning materials and collaborative projects.
- Turn customer and community feedback into documented recommendations, product requirements and reusable creative guidance.
- Plan projects, coordinate internal and external contributors, and track creative quality, participation, product adoption and relevant commercial outcomes.
What you bring - essential requirements
- Creative and commercial leadership: a track record of leading digital marketing or creative businesses, teams and client programmes, connecting audience insight, brand positioning and creative strategy with measurable business outcomes.
- Generative AI product and workflow experience: practical experience bringing an AI product or service to market for creative or marketing teams, together with designing LLM-based and agentic workflows for real customer or business needs.
- Professional AI evaluation experience: direct experience comparing models and evaluating their outputs against defined tasks, including creating scoring rubrics and evaluation checkpoints that enable consistent assessment by independent reviewers.
- Fashion education and entrepreneurial experience: professional training in fashion business or fashion management, combined with hands-on experience launching and developing a fashion or accessories brand, covering creative concept, product development, manufacturing partners, positioning and sales.
- International community building: experience building a professional community from an early stage and expanding it across multiple cities or countries through organic growth, recurring events, partnerships and a distributed network of volunteer organisers or ambassadors.
- Cross-functional product and client leadership: experience working with creative teams, engineers and business stakeholders, translating customer insights into clear briefs, product requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Education and industry representation: experience delivering talks, workshops or mentoring programmes for professional audiences, building partnerships and making emerging technology understandable and useful to practitioners.
- Communication and creative judgement: strong written and spoken English, confident communication with international clients and partners, and the ability to assess visual storytelling, brand consistency and the commercial purpose of creative work.
What success looks like
- NewArc has a clear creative direction and a growing collection of relevant fashion examples.
- Creative experiments produce documented workflows and quality standards that others can reuse.
- Designers and creators participate regularly in useful activities and collaborations.
- Customer and community insights lead to practical improvements in content, onboarding and product experience.
How to apply
Please submit your CV and a short selection of relevant projects. Include examples of AI workflow design or evaluation, fashion work, and community building. Explain your personal contribution and the results achieved in each area.
Pay: £52,000.00 per year
Work Location: In person
