A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Artworker to join multi-sport teamwear manufacturer Akuma Sports.

Known in the industry for cutting edge designs & top-class service, we are a young, creative business who manufacture bespoke teamwear for sports clubs, schools, universities and much more worldwide.

This position offers the successful candidate an opportunity to build an outstanding wealth of art-working and design experience within a successful company that is highly specialised in this sector.

Key responsibilities

  • Garment CAD production – The main purpose of the role is producing artwork to be sent to print for sublimated garments across a variety of sports. Produced in illustrator, the specifics of the role, garments and fabrics involved will be part of your training.
  • Checking Orders – A series of checks are in place for orders that are going into production, you will take a lead role in ensuring these checks are followed and artwork is sent to the factory correctly.
  • Alteration of Artwork - Making amendments to garment artwork, including minor alterations of logo placements, colourways and production of proof signoffs.
  • Sportswear Design – Time will also be spent both altering and designing initial briefs for a range of clients from corporate to sports clubs and universities to events. Initial briefs will be mostly self-driven however larger pitches and projects will be a collaborative effort. The design office is open so opinions are always at hand and we encourage you to bounce ideas off your colleagues.

Person specification

  • Excellent Adobe Creative Suite skills, particularly in Illustrator but also InDesign and Photoshop
  • Experience in preparing design work for print is desirable but not essential
  • A portfolio demonstrating a strong range of design work
  • Accuracy in work with good attention to detail
  • Mac literate
  • Willingness to work beyond set hours to ensure completion of work
  • Due to the rural location, having your own transport would be beneficial.
