Full job description

Location: Shoreditch, London (on-site, studio-based)

Contract: Freelance – ongoing throughout the year

Rate: Competitive day rate – confirmed at trial day

Start: Immediately – trial day to be arranged

About the Role

theprintspace produces fine art and photographic frames for galleries, collectors, and artists

– work that demands genuine craft and an uncompromising eye. We're building a freelance

roster of experienced framers to call on during peak periods and volume spikes, working

alongside our permanent production team in our London studio.

This is a role for someone who frames to a high standard as a matter of course – not when

they're being watched. The best freelancers become a regular fixture, and a number of our

most trusted collaborators have moved into permanent positions with us.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Constructing bespoke and ready-made frames to exact client specifications
  • Cutting mouldings, mount boards, glass, and backing materials cleanly and accurately
  • Fitting artworks, installing fixings, hanging systems, and conservation materials
  • Inspecting finished frames at each stage – alignment, cleanliness, corners, glazing
  • Working closely with mounting, printing, and dispatch teams to hit production

deadlines

  • Handling artworks and materials with the care their value demands

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience framing fine art or photographic work professionally
  • Strong, consistent craftsmanship – you know what a good frame looks like and you

deliver it

  • Confident and safe use of framing tools and workshop machinery
  • Able to work at pace during busy production periods without cutting corners
  • Detail-oriented: you notice the things that matter – a misaligned corner, a speck

under the glass

  • Professional approach to both artworks and colleagues – you fit naturally into a tight

Team

Working With Us

  • Competitive freelance day rate, paid promptly
  • All roles begin with a paid trial day – no unpaid assessments
  • Ad-hoc bookings with the potential for regular, repeat work year-round
  • Well-equipped studio with high-quality materials and clearly defined production

standards

  • Collaborative, experienced team – framing, mounting, printing, and dispatch working

together

  • A genuine pathway to permanent employment for outstanding freelancers

How to Apply

Head to https://bigops.in/careers/uk/bespoke-framing/ and submit your details!

We move quickly and will be in touch to arrange a trial day if there's a fit.

Pay: £15.00 per hour
