Rikama Education Ltd are currently working with special needs school in Rochester who are looking for a number of SEN Teaching Assistants to start as soon as possible for both Primary and Secondary learners, with the opportunity of a permanent role for the right candidate after the initial period.

The school offers excellent facilities on an extremely large site and educate and care for students (mixed boys and girls) aged from 4 to 19 with PMLD, Complex Needs, Mental health conditions, challenging behaviour and who are on the Autistic spectrum.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support
  • Assist the teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
  • Support children with special educational needs and diverse learning styles.
  • Help prepare classroom resources and maintain classroom organisation.
  • Adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • An enhanced DBS.
  • Previous experience working with children is desirable but not essential.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to learning.
  • Experience working with Special Needs.
