Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asbestos Supervisor to oversee asbestos removal and management projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, extensive knowledge of asbestos regulations, and proficiency in project management tools such as Primavera P6. This role offers an opportunity to lead teams, ensure compliance with safety standards, and deliver successful project outcomes within the regulated environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for supervising asbestos-related activities, maintaining safety protocols, and coordinating with clients and contractors to meet project specifications.
Duties
- Supervise asbestos removal and encapsulation projects, ensuring all work complies with relevant health and safety legislation.
- Manage and coordinate teams of asbestos operatives, providing clear instructions and oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
- Utilise Primavera P6 for programme planning, scheduling, and resource management to ensure timely project delivery.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop method statements in accordance with legal requirements.
- Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to facilitate smooth communication and project progression.
- Maintain detailed records of all asbestos works, including inspections, waste disposal documentation, and compliance reports.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on asbestos handling procedures and safety measures.
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within the asbestos removal or environmental management sector.
- Strong familiarity with Primavera P6 or similar project management software.
- In-depth knowledge of asbestos legislation, health & safety standards, and best practices in hazardous materials management.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple teams effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
- Relevant qualifications such as P402 (Asbestos Removal) certification are highly desirable.
