Overview
We are seeking experienced and driven Asbestos Removal Operatives and Asbestos Removal Supervisors to join our team. The ideal candidates will have, not only experience within the Asbestos Removals industry but experience in other trades, to facilitate the expanding business and exciting new services.

Responsibilities - Asbestos Supervisor

Asbestos Supervisors are responsible to supervise and coordinate the activities for the safe removal of Licensed & Non-Licensed Asbestos Containing Materials in strict accordance with the Company’s Procedure Manual and in line with legislative requirements.

This includes, but is not limited to the following;

  • Briefing operatives on the works involved prior to works beginning, ensuring all involved have reviewed the Risk Assessments/ Method Statements.
  • Provide additional training, information and instruction to operatives as necessary. May include introduction of new work equipment or methods of which operatives are not familiar, or introduction of new Regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring that all operatives are equipped with the necessary protection and equipment.
  • Site set-up; ensuring the hygiene facilities are fully operational before work starts, warning signs are displayed and barriers correctly positioned, effective arrangements to communicate with operatives inside the enclosure.
  • Monitor and inspect quality of work during removal activities.
  • Assist operatives in removal activities.
  • Complete and maintain site files including daily/weekly inspections/checklists, including audits, Tool box talks, accident/ near miss report forms, etc.
  • Ensuring the team have suitable contingency (emergency) procedures in the event of a failure of controls, e.g. damage to enclosure, loss of negative pressure etc.
  • Ensure we have suitable procedures for dealing with accidents, incidents and emergencies.

Responsibilities - Asbestos Operative

Asbestos Operatives are responsible for the safe removal and disposal of Asbestos, following current legislation, Company Procedures and Method Statements and under the supervision of a Supervisor.

This includes, but is not limited to the following;

  • Site preparation to enable safe removals, to include preclean, erection of airlocks and enclosures, sealing all penetrations with polythene sheets, setting up Decontamination Unit, NPUs, demarcation areas,
  • Removal of asbestos to pipework, steel beams, roofs, equipment/plant, soffits, boilers, rainwater goods, floors, ceiling panels and other, using a variety of techniques suitable for the safe removal to include controlled wetting injection, surface mist spraying, shadow vacuum, wrap and cut, encapsulation and enhanced air management in accordance with current Regulations and Safety Standards.
  • Safe disposal of asbestos to include, correct packaging, labelling and transferring appropriately in accordance with current legislations.
