Job Overview

Asbestos OperativeJob Summary

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Asbestos Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in the safe removal, handling, and disposal of asbestos-containing materials while ensuring all work is completed in accordance with current health and safety regulations and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out asbestos removal works on commercial, industrial, and domestic properties.
  • Set up and maintain safe working areas, including enclosures and decontamination units.
  • Follow site-specific risk assessments, plans of work, and method statements.
  • Wear and maintain the required respiratory protective equipment (RPE) and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Safely remove, handle, bag, label, and dispose of asbestos-containing materials.
  • Conduct thorough cleaning and decontamination of work areas upon completion.
  • Complete all required site paperwork and records accurately.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and communicate professionally with clients and colleagues.
  • Attend training courses and refreshers as required.

Requirements

  • Previous asbestos removal experience preferred.
  • Valid asbestos removal training certificates desirable.
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments.
  • Ability to work away from home when required.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
  • Reliable, punctual, and motivated attitude.

East midlands area mainly but do travel

Pay: £25,420.00-£80,059.88 per year
