Asbestos Removal jobs in South Normanton

Roofer

£20 per hour · Full-time, permanent

Loughborough base · Nationwide work · Company van after successful induction

Enjoy hands-on roofing work with the support of an established team. We’re looking for an experienced roofer to fit replacement steel-sheet roofs on flat and pitched garages. You’ll focus on quality roofing work, with job planning, ordering and team management handled by the owner and office. Previous supervisory or team-leader experience is not required.

What the work involves

• Fitting steel-sheet garage roofs, flashings, fixings and weatherproof finishing details.

• Working alongside our existing team to remove old roofs and install replacements.

• Taking pride in a tidy, watertight finish and following safe working procedures.

What we’re looking for

• Proven practical roofing experience. Steel or corrugated-sheet roofing experience is particularly useful.

• A reliable roofer who works well with others and is comfortable working at height.

• A full driving licence and the ability to reach our Loughborough base for early starts.

• Experience with guttering, fascias and trims is helpful.

Asbestos roof removal – training supplied

Some jobs involve helping remove asbestos-cement garage roofs before replacement. Appropriate asbestos training will be supplied. You will only undertake this work after suitable training, competence assessment and authorisation, following the company’s risk assessments and plan of work. Awareness training alone is not sufficient for work that disturbs asbestos.

Hours, company van and paid travel

Typically around 50 hours per week, including travel. Hours vary with the jobs and travel involved. Work is nationwide, based from Loughborough, with early starts. Overnight stays are occasional rather than routine and will be discussed in advance.

During your first week, you’ll meet an existing team member and travel together in their van. If the first week or two goes well, you’ll be allocated your own company van and can travel directly from home to jobs, picking up other team members when needed.

Once your company van is allocated, you’ll be paid £20 per hour from leaving home for work until returning home at the end of the working day, including travel. Initial meeting points and travel arrangements will be confirmed before you start.
