Asbestos Removal jobs in Troon

We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Asbestos Removal Operative at Strada Environmental. If you are not in work or in work and looking for a positive change please contact us. We have available positions for on site working, preferably a background in construction and must be able to drive. A demolition background would be especially beneficial. Day rate between £110 - £120 per day depending on experience.

To assist in the site set up and safe abatement of asbestos containing materials according to the method statement and scope of works.

Trainee operatives or Asbestos Trained Operatives, with supervision by the site supervisor (Chargehand/ Foreman) are able to abate materials such as Decorative Textured coating, Asbestos Cement, ACM floor tiles and Asbestos Insulation Board as per their training. Trainee will be able to make full use of all safe removal techniques, fibre suppression techniques (Killaspray/Greco), Shadow Vacuuming techniques. Trainee Operatives will be able to assist in bag runs & bagging of material with the stages of the bag lock. Trainees will also conduct any works that are within their capacity and training.

Main Duties will include:

- Ensuring works are carried out in line with the Risk Assessment and Method statement.

- To undertake duties as reasonably requested by the Asbestos Removal Supervisor.

Person specification:

- Previous experience within the asbestos removal industry would be beneficial, but not essential as full training is given.

- Physically fit

- Must hold a full clean driving licence

- Must have a strong work ethic

- The ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst remaining calm and professional under pressure

- Willing to work and stay away from home when required

- Willing to work evenings, weekends and public holidays when required

- Must work to and follow company standard procedures
