There is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic qualified registered nurse to join the Ashfield Healthy Family Teams.

You will work in community settings, Health Centres, Schools, Childrens Centres and client's homes to deliver the Universal Healthy Child Programme and Tier 1 targeted health services to the local 0-19 ages population.

Our teams work to an integrated 0-19 public health agenda. The team comprises Specialist Public Health Practitioners who lead the teams of Public Health Practitioners, Assistant Public Health Practitioners, Healthy Child Assistants and Screening Assistants in the delivery of a universal and targeted 0-19 Healthy Child and Public Health Nursing Programme. We work in partnership with local Children's Centres to promote health and you will contribute to tackling health inequalities within the level of competencies required for the post.

It is envisaged that the successful applicant will have the opportunity in the future to apply for the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse degree.

The Healthy Families Team deliver universal and targeted health services to the 0-19 year population in Ashfield and Mansfield. The post holder will be responsible for supporting the day to day management of a defined workload, working within a skill mix team.

As part of the Healthy Families Team, you will be responsible for the delivery of public health, universal and targeted interventions including safeguarding across the 0-19 years age range in line with The Healthy Child Programme. This will be delegated to them by the Specialist Public Health Practitioner for the defined population. This will be delivered in line with the National and Local guidelines and public health priorities.

You will be responsible for supporting and clinically supervising the Assistant Public Health Practitioners, Healthy Child Assistants and Screening Assistants allocated to a defined geographical population to deliver and maintain high quality professional standards of practice.

The team work proactively using a partnership approach to promote health and contribute to tackling health inequalities within the level of competencies required for the post.

The Healthy Families Team deliver Universal and targeted health services to the 0-19 year population in Nottinghamshire. You will be responsible for supporting the day to day management of a defined Caseload, working within a skilled and mixed team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified, experienced nurse with sound communication skills to develop their role within the community setting. We offer a friendly and supportive working environment with excellent development opportunities.

You will work with children, young people and families within the home environment, school or other identified community setting.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
