Full job description

Sommelier WILD

Rooted in Nature. Guided by the Seasons.

At WILD, everything begins with the land.

Just a few minutes from the restaurant, our farm shapes almost everything we do. We grow herbs, vegetables, edible flowers and fruit from seed, farming thoughtfully and in step with the seasons. The harvest dictates the menu, the seasons guide our decisions, and every dish reflects our belief that exceptional food begins with healthy soil.

Our wine programme is built on the same principles.

We seek out growers, winemakers and regions that share our values of stewardship, authenticity and respect for the land. The list evolves alongside the kitchen, celebrating terroir, seasonality and the stories behind every bottle. From iconic producers to lesser-known discoveries, each wine has a place at the table and a connection to the food we serve.

We are looking for a passionate Sommelier to join our team, working closely alongside our senior wine leadership and Master Sommelier. This is an opportunity to immerse yourself in a truly farm-led environment, develop your expertise, and contribute to a wine programme that is thoughtful, ambitious and constantly evolving.

The Role

As Sommelier, you will help bring our wine programme to life through warm, intuitive hospitality and a genuine passion for sharing knowledge. You will play an active role in creating memorable guest experiences, guiding conversations around food and wine, and helping guests discover bottles that complement both the season and the harvest.

Working closely with our senior sommeliers, you will gain hands-on experience across every aspect of the wine programme, from service and pairing to cellar management, list development and educational initiatives. You will be encouraged to ask questions, explore new ideas and continuously develop your understanding of wine, agriculture, terroir and hospitality.

This role is ideal for someone who is curious, ambitious and excited by the connection between farming, food and wine.

Key Responsibilities

Support daily wine service with confidence, warmth and attention to detail

Assist guests with wine selections and pairing recommendations

Share stories of producers, regions and terroir in an engaging and approachable way

Work alongside senior sommeliers on the development and evolution of the wine list

Learn and contribute to cellar organisation, stock control and ordering processes

Participate in staff training, tastings and ongoing education sessions

Support wine dinners, producer events and guest experiences

Help foster a culture of curiosity, learning and hospitality across the team

Maintain exceptional standards of presentation and service

About You

You have some experience in wine service or a strong foundation of wine knowledge and a desire to grow

You have a genuine passion for wine, food, farming and hospitality

You are curious about terroir, seasonality and the relationship between food and wine

You are eager to learn, open to feedback and motivated to develop your skills

You enjoy working collaboratively and contributing to a shared vision

You are a confident communicator with a natural, guest-focused approach

WSET, CMS or equivalent studies are welcomed but not essential

What We Offer

Competitive salary

4-day working week

Closed Sundays and Mondays

One paid day each month spent on our farm

Your birthday off

Staff meals provided

Ongoing mentorship from senior wine leadership and a Master Sommelier

Financial support for wine education, including CMS courses and examinations

Access to tastings, vineyard visits and structured development opportunities

A supportive environment focused on growth, learning and progression

Join Us

At WILD, we believe great hospitality begins with connection. Connection to the land, to the seasons, to the people who grow our food and produce our wines, and to the guests who share our table.

If you are passionate about wine, inspired by seasonality and looking to develop your career within an ambitious and values-driven team, we would love to hear from you.

Come grow with us.
