Assistant Manager – 30 hours min - Full Time

The Barclay Pizza & Prosecco is a vibrant prosecco bar and casual dining venue based in Royton, Oldham. We opened in 2018 and have grown a lot in that time, we serve authentic wood-fired pizza, great cocktails, provide a fabulous atmosphere with live music, events and a private party space. We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day running of the business and help lead our fantastic front-of-house team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional who is passionate about customer service, enjoys leading a team, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Working closely with the General Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations and maintaining the high standards our customers have come to expect. You will be confident taking responsibility for the venue in the General Manager's absence and leading the team to deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day operation of the business
  • Leading, motivating, and developing the front-of-house team
  • Delivering excellent customer service and ensuring a positive guest experience
  • Supervising service across the bar and restaurant floor
  • Assisting with staff training and performance management
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service
  • Supporting event planning and organisation
  • Handling cash management and end-of-day procedures
  • Opening and closing the venue when required
  • Assisting with stock control and cellar management
  • Ensuring compliance with company procedures, licensing regulations, and health & safety requirements

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 1 year's experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within hospitality
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong leadership abilities with the confidence to manage and motivate a team
  • A hands-on approach and willingness to lead by example
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and busy periods
