Federal is all about great food, great coffee and genuinely brilliant service. We’re getting ready to open our brand-new café in York, and we’re looking for an experienced Assistant General Manager to join us from the end of October and help us bring Federal to a new city.

This is a brilliant opportunity to be part of a new opening from the very beginning - helping us build the team, set the standards and create the kind of customer experience that keeps people coming back.

THE ROLE

FOH is one of the most crucial roles at Federal. First impressions matter. Your role is to make sure we make the right impression straight away. From your appearance, tone and attitude to how quickly you seat them or how sensitively you instruct them to queue, it all matters. But its not just the welcome...your role will be to ensure that for the duration oftheir stay, you understand their every need and are on-hand to oversee that their Federal experience is an excellent one. You'll work closely with kitchen and coffee bar and alert them to any specific needs a customer may have and you will ensure that those needs are met. Along with the GM, you are responsible for the overall experience a guest at Federal has.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Greet all customers and make them feel immediatey at ease

Ensure customers receive excellent service

Handle complaints and issues delicately remembering that all complaints are an opportunity for the brand to excel

Help serve food and beverages

Ensure Cleanliness - If you spot it, the customer has too

Manage payments

Clean and set tables

Maintain order within the cafe

Think like a customer

Liaise well with baristas and kitchen staff to ensure effective working relationship

Managing the tills when required

Ensure outside area is always clean and presentable

Queue management/hospitality (If its raining take guests umbrellas, if its sunny take them iced coffee)

Ability to bridge gap between front of house and back of house operations

Pay: £14.67-£14.87 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 45.0 per week
