Shape the future of therapeutic practice in specialist education.

Kedleston Group is a growing, ambitious organisation with a clear purpose: to support children and young people with special educational needs to thrive in education, work, and life. Since 2006, we have expanded to 15 schools across England and a team of over 650 dedicated professionals, all united by a commitment to putting pupils first, keeping them safe, and helping them find their place in the world.

We are now seeking an exceptional Director of Therapeutic Services to lead and develop our therapeutic provision across the Group.

About the role

This is a pivotal leadership role with both strategic and operational impact. You will lead a well-established and growing team of clinicians including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, counsellors, psychotherapists, and psychologists, ensuring therapeutic practice is fully embedded at the heart of our educational model.

Working in close partnership with school leaders, you will:

  • Drive integration of therapeutic support across the curriculum to achieve outstanding outcomes for neurodiverse pupils and those with SEMH needs
  • Shape and strengthen clinical governance, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and effectiveness
  • Lead and inspire a multi-disciplinary team, supporting professional development and service innovation
  • Use data and outcomes to continuously improve and evidence impact
  • Align therapeutic practice with Kedleston’s wider education framework and vision

The role will operate on an agile and hybrid basis. An office base will be available in Uxbridge, Birmingham, or Stockport, and regular travel across our schools including occasional overnight stays will be required.

About you

We are looking for a credible, experienced clinical leader who brings:

  • Significant experience within the SEND sector
  • A strong track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Expertise in clinical governance, quality assurance, and outcome measurement
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • A deep commitment to inclusion, innovation, and child-centred practice

Why join Kedleston?

This is an exciting time to join a group that is investing heavily in its therapeutic services and committed to delivering a truly integrated, high-quality offer.

We offer:

  • Competitive salary (equivalent to AFC Band 8c)
  • £6,000 annual car allowance
  • Enhanced pension scheme
  • 38 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
  • Ongoing training, development, and career progression opportunities
  • Access to a range of perks, discounts and wellbeing support
