Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Practice Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring exceptional patient care, regulatory compliance, team performance, and commercial success. The successful candidate will be a strong leader with a proven ability to drive business growth, manage people effectively, and maintain high standards across all aspects of practice operations.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Growth

  • Drive practice performance through effective business planning and target management.
  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs), including revenue, treatment conversion, patient retention, and appointment utilisation.
  • Identify opportunities to increase private treatment uptake and enhance patient experience.
  • Support marketing initiatives and local business development activities to attract new patients.
  • Work closely with clinicians to maximise treatment acceptance and practice profitability.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, motivate, and develop the practice team to achieve individual and collective objectives.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and coaching sessions.
  • Foster a positive, patient-focused culture that reflects the values of of our dental practice
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, and staff development.
  • Handle employee relations matters professionally and in line with company policies.

Operational Management

  • Ensure the smooth running of daily practice operations.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, diary optimisation, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee stock control, supplier relationships, and budget management.
  • Implement and maintain efficient administrative systems and processes.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure full compliance with CQC requirements, GDC standards, GDPR, HTM guidance, and all relevant healthcare regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records, policies, risk assessments, and audits.
  • Lead the practice through inspections and compliance reviews.
  • Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement and patient safety.

Patient Experience & Treatment Coordination

  • Deliver outstanding customer service and patient care.
  • Support patients throughout their treatment journey and address concerns professionally.
  • Utilise previous Treatment Coordinator (TCO) experience to assist with treatment presentations, case acceptance, and patient communication.
  • Work collaboratively with clinicians to improve treatment conversion rates and patient engagement.

Software & Systems

  • Competent in Dentally
  • Produce reports and analyse data to support business decisions.
  • Ensure accurate patient records and efficient workflow management.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Dental Practice Manager or Senior Dental Administrator.
  • Demonstrable experience driving business performance and achieving growth targets.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Preferably have prior Treatment Coordinator (TCO) experience with a proven ability to increase treatment acceptance.
  • Working knowledge of Dentally software.
  • Excellent understanding of dental compliance, CQC requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commercial awareness and financial acumen.

Desirable Requirements

  • Management qualification or leadership training.
  • Experience within a private or mixed dental practice environment.
  • Knowledge of marketing and patient acquisition strategies.

Salary

£38, 000 – £45,000 per annum (depending on experience and qualifications), plus potential performance-related bonus.
