Position: Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant
Start Date: September 2026
Pay Rate: £95–£110 per day DOE
Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in a school before pursuing a career in educational psychology, clinical psychology, teaching, counselling, or mental health?
Cover People are working with a range of primary, secondary, and specialist schools across Greater Manchester to recruit enthusiastic Psychology graduates to support pupils with a variety of learning, behavioural, and emotional needs. This is an excellent opportunity to develop valuable experience working alongside experienced teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams while making a real difference to young people's lives.
Whether you're looking for experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH, autism, ADHD, or speech and language needs, we'll help find a school that matches your interests and career aspirations.
The Role:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with additional learning needs
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Encourage positive behaviour and build strong, trusting relationships
- Help create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
We're Looking For:
- A degree in Psychology (or a related subject)
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
- Experience working with children is beneficial but not essential
- An interest in careers such as Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, Speech & Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Child Mental Health
