Job description
Join KPMG as an Associate Director in Healthcare Advisory
You’ll be joining our team that support the NHS as well as other healthcare and government organisations on driving value and in getting major transformation programmes approved and delivered.
With our position as a leading advisor to the NHS and other healthcare and government bodies, we are frequently approached to support the most complex and high-profile programmes. Joining our team will expose you to work on a range of high-profile assignments helping providers, commissioners and regulators address their most challenging issues.
KPMG is part of a global network of firms that through 16,000 colleagues brings creativity and insight to meeting our clients’ most critical challenges. With offices across the UK, we work with everyone from enterprises to national government bodies and major multinationals, in virtually every industry imaginable.
Our work is often complex, yet our vision is simple: to be the clear choice for our clients, for our people and for the communities we work in. Our purpose is to support the projects that improve the fabric of our nation, and other nations around the world trying to improve the economic functioning and social wellbeing of their society. We have a focus on innovation and answers rather than just relying on a fixed methodology and this is supported by our diverse team, in terms of background and skillsets.

There are also broader opportunities to deliver across government over time. Typical engagements include strategic options appraisal, demand modelling, workforce modelling, financial modelling, business case development, population health analytics, benefits realisation and value-for-money assessments.
The role is a leadership role on the team, with day-to-day responsibility for our client engagements and business development activity including:
- Leading the delivery of client engagements;
- Driving input from internal teams and external advisers;
- Providing subject matter expertise;
- Ensuring the production of high quality documentation and presentations;
- Lead and contribute to proposals, develop client relationships and identify opportunities to grow existing and new client accounts;
- Developing sector specific market intelligence;
- Introducing new ideas to the team and inspiring the team to do the same;
- Engagement administration, compliance and risk management;
- Performance management, coaching and mentoring of managers; and
- Any other duties commensurate with the role.
The role is UK based, although there will be opportunities for international travel and we are interested in individuals with a global mindset.

- Strong experience of advisory and of healthcare as a sector as well as ideally an understanding of adjacent sectors such as social care and local authorities;
- Experience in economic modelling, financial analysis, demand and capacity analysis, and/or population health management analytics;
- An understanding of how generative AI, data platforms, and advanced analytics can enhance insight generation, modelling, scenario planning and productivity;
- Strong knowledge and understanding of health sector data sets to analyse and provide insight on drivers of financial, operational and economic challenges.Experience of quality assuring or developing analysis using large datasets as well as data presentation and visual storytelling through, for example, interactive dashboarding tools;
- Understanding of product development lifecycle;
- Strong report writing experience to support decision-making by senior stakeholders;
- Experience of service transformation, benefits quantification, or value for money analysis.
- Experienced presenting to senior management or executive teams;
- Project management experience for major transformation programmes;
- Familiarity with public procurement processes;
