Full job description
At Avery Healthcare, we're more than a care provider. We're a community of passionate, dedicated professionals united by a shared purpose: creating meaningful lives together.
As one of the UK's leading providers of luxury elderly care, with more than 100 homes across the country, we know that exceptional resident experiences start with exceptional people. That's why we invest in our teams, celebrate success, champion personal growth, and create an environment where people feel valued, supported, and empowered to make a difference.
When you join Avery, you'll be part of an ambitious, forward-thinking organisation that genuinely cares about its residents and colleagues. You'll have the opportunity to influence care at scale, work alongside talented leaders, and play a vital role in driving quality, safety, and continuous improvement across our homes.
We're now looking for an experienced Associate Director of Quality to join our North & Central Division. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an individual who is passionate about care excellence, committed to raising standards, and motivated by the chance to make a lasting difference to the lives of residents and colleagues alike.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Quality and working closely with operational and clinical teams, you will lead the delivery and continuous improvement of quality, compliance, and clinical governance across the division.
You will be instrumental in developing a culture where excellence in care, safety, quality, and clinical risk management are at the heart of everything we do.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing visible and inspirational leadership, ensuring robust quality assurance systems and processes are in place across the division.
- Ensuring group quality indicators, regulatory requirements, and clinical governance standards are consistently achieved.
- Leading, coaching, and developing a team of quality professionals, empowering them to deliver outstanding outcomes and reach their full potential.
- Partnering with operational leaders to drive continuous improvement and encourage innovation across our homes.
- Challenging conventional approaches and supporting the development of a learning culture where best practice is shared and celebrated.
- Acting as a trusted subject matter expert, providing guidance on regulatory compliance, quality initiatives, new services, and business projects.
- Supporting the Director of Quality with professional nursing leadership, clinical advice, and organisational learning.
- Analysing quality and performance data, translating insights into meaningful action and measurable improvement.
This is a rewarding opportunity to influence care standards across a large and growing organisation while enjoying a competitive salary, performance incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
About You
You are a passionate and credible quality leader who leads by example and inspires others to deliver exceptional resident experiences.
You share our commitment to being caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable, and you are driven by a desire to continually raise standards and improve outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- Registered Nurse status with a current NMC registration or demonstrable equivalent clinical expertise.
- A minimum of five years' experience within a Quality and Care leadership role.
- Proven experience leading, developing, and motivating high-performing teams.
- Strong knowledge and experience of quality assurance systems, governance frameworks, and audit processes.
- Excellent understanding of regulatory requirements within the health and social care sector.
- The ability to analyse complex data, identify trends, and present meaningful reports and recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and build effective relationships at all levels.
- A proactive and solution-focused approach, with a passion for continuous improvement and resident-centred care.
Why Avery Healthcare?
At Avery, you'll find more than a job. You'll discover a career with purpose.
We are committed to creating an environment where our people can thrive, develop, and do their best work every day. In return for your expertise and dedication, we offer:
- A competitive salary and performance-related incentives
- Comprehensive employee benefits package
- A supportive and inclusive culture
- Opportunities for continued professional development and career progression
- The chance to work alongside talented colleagues who share your passion for excellence
- The opportunity to make a genuine impact on the quality of care delivered across a leading national provider
Additional Information
Please note that this role requires:
- A satisfactory DBS check (paid for by Avery Healthcare)
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the division
Ready to Make a Difference?
If you're an experienced quality leader looking for an opportunity to influence care standards, inspire teams, and help shape the future of elderly care, we'd love to hear from you.
