Personal Assistant – Supporting Independence

We are seeking a reliable and professional Personal Assistant to support a young man in his twenties; he is a maths graduate and computer programmer. He is physically disabled with dysarthria.

This role is about enabling a full and active life — not simply providing care. You will support daily living, personal care, mobility, appointments, household tasks (including cooking), social activities and travel, both in the UK and abroad (potentially several trips per year of up to two weeks).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal care and mobility support
  • Maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality
  • Household tasks including cooking meals and cleaning home
  • Driving as directed by client (full UK licence required)
  • Supporting at home and during travel (valid passport required)
  • Working as part of a structured PA team
  • Reporting to Team Leader

About You:

  • Calm, dependable and discreet
  • Ability to assist with safe mobility transfers and positioning tasks with training provided
  • Flexible and able to travel internationally
  • Comfortable working in a private household
  • Team-oriented with good judgement
  • Willing to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check

Care experience is helpful but not essential. The right attitude, professionalism and reliability are more important.

If you are looking for meaningful work where you can genuinely enable someone to live independently — and don’t mind occasionally packing a suitcase for work — we would love to hear from you.
