CLIENT
CW is an engaging, humorous and curious individual, who enjoys daily trips within the community (e.g., going on walks, visiting different places, attending cafés/restaurants). We are seeking one-to-one support for assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including household management, food preparation, and community activities. CW lives on his own in Watford, very nearby to his mother, and requires support for cognitive difficulties, as a result of a traumatic brain injury (TBI), and anxiety (mainly health- and food-related).
CW has said he would like the following from support and what he enjoys:
- Someone I can get along with
- Someone I can banter with
- Someone who doesn't take themselves too seriously
- Somebody who doesn't mind working under a very strong MDT: this isn't a high street piece of casework
- I'm interested and curious about the world. I've been to Barcelona and Inverness recently
- I like sports: I play badminton, I go swimming, I go to the gym regularly and work under a personal trainer program there
- Each day is different, although I have a routine for the week. I do work at St John, and I also help out at Scouts every week
- I love chilli, come prepared!
- I like transport trains, planes, buses, etc
- I have a wicked sense of humour
- I like eating out, especially at Pizza Express, Pho, Nandos and Thai restaurants
- I'm always up for trying lots of different things with support workers, and it's one of the ways that I can explore and experience different things, so in the past I've gotten into opera, playing golf, hiking/walking, cycling, cooking and exploring new recipes and photography
Employment and rate
£20 - £22 per hour for daytime hours (10.00am to 18.00pm)
Part-time, exact hours of work to be confirmed
Employment by financial deputy
