Job Introduction

Support Worker

Location: St. Austell, Cornwall
Pay Rate: £15.00- 15.50 per hour
Shift Pattern: 20.00 pm - 08.00 am


We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and enthusiastic Male Support Worker to join our dedicated team in Higher Bugle, St. Austell providing 1:1 support to a friendly and positive gentleman in his early 50s who lives independently in his own home.

The individual we support has Autism and Learning Disabilities who requires assistance with daily living, communication, and behavioural support. We are looking for someone who can provide consistent, person-centred support that promotes independence, choice, and wellbeing. The individual enjoys watching classic TV, going out for coffee, swimming, and bowling, and would benefit from support that encourages participation in these activities and the local community

Experience and Skills of a Support Worker:

  • Experience supporting individuals with Autism and Learning disabilities would be advantageous but is not required, as full training will be provided.
  • A genuine passion for supporting individuals to achieve the best possible quality of life.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive and trusting relationships.
  • A caring, compassionate, and patient approach to supporting individuals with complex care needs.
  • Confidence in working as part of a team and following person-centred care plans.
  • Ability to remain calm and responsive in challenging situations.
  • Willingness to undertake specialist clinical training, including tracheostomy care and moving and handling.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, dignity, choice, and promoting independence.
  • Reliable, flexible, and committed to providing consistent, high-quality support.
