M&E CAD Designer

TimesGroup Ltd is an established Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) contractor delivering building services installation projects across the North West and wider UK.

Due to continued growth within our Projects Division, we are looking to recruit an organised and detail-oriented CAD Designer to support the completion and handover of our construction projects.

The Role

Working closely with our project managers and engineering teams, you will take responsibility for preparing and compiling project handover documentation, including Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manuals, as-built drawings and associated technical information.

You will ensure all documentation is accurate, professionally presented and completed in line with project specifications and client requirements, helping our project teams achieve a smooth and timely handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce and update as-built M&E drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Compile, prepare and coordinate comprehensive O&M manuals for completed projects.
• Gather and organise manufacturers' technical data, equipment manuals, maintenance schedules, warranties and commissioning certificates.
• Review project information to ensure handover documentation is complete and meets client requirements.
• Liaise with project managers, engineers, suppliers and manufacturers to obtain outstanding documentation.
• Maintain drawing registers, document revisions and handover trackers.
• Identify missing information and proactively chase outstanding documents ahead of project completion.
• Ensure all handover information is accurately organised and issued within agreed project deadlines.
• Support project teams with general CAD drawing amendments and technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle where required.

About You

We are looking for someone who is methodical, proactive and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality documentation.

Essential requirements:

• Previous experience working for an M&E contractor or within the building services industry.
• Experience producing as-built drawings and/or compiling O&M manuals for construction projects.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to use Revit.
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical building services and associated technical documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail and document control skills.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple project deadlines.
• A proactive approach to obtaining outstanding information and resolving documentation gaps.

Experience with BIM, digital handover platforms and structured electronic O&M submissions would be advantageous but is not essential.
