Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field, such as computer engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering.

Proficiency in programming languages like C and C++, python, etc.

3-5 years of Product Testing and Test Process Development

Familiarity with communication protocols and hardware interfaces.

Knowledge of PCB design tools and electronic design automation software.

Experience with debugging tools and techniques for embedded systems.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking skills.

Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams; strong communication skills are essential.

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Test Engineer to join our dynamic R&D department at Gill in Lymington, Hampshire.

An embedded systems test engineer is to designs, develop test equipment and processes as well as carries out product testing for new and existing product development projects. Responsibilities include interpreting technical requirements, creating test plans, developing automated test fixtures and performing product testing.

Responsibilities

  • Support of system level testing of NPD projects: Develop the overall test plan and process of embedded systems, focusing on product performance, automated test systems and product requirements.
  • Develop test fixtures (production and engineering) for the testing of new products and subsystems of mechanical and electronic hardware.
  • Negotiate test requirements with product management, project management and other members of the project team as well as communicate these requirements and plans.
  • Integration testing: setup and perform tests against the product requirements to ensure the product meets the system level requirements for the product.
  • Testing and validation: Develop and execute test plans to verify that the system meets its specifications for both user needs and technical requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work with other teams, including software, mechanical, and electrical engineers, to define requirements and integrate solutions.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for the system's design, root cause analysis, prognosis and product functionality.
