Carpet Trader (Bicester) Limited is a successful, family-run flooring and home interiors business serving customers across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire and surrounding areas.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for two (2) experienced Flooring Specialist Installers to join our employed installation team.

This is a varied role for a skilled flooring professional who takes genuine pride in their workmanship, works to a consistently high standard and understands the importance of providing an excellent customer experience.

The Role

You will be responsible for the professional installation of a wide range of domestic and commercial flooring, including:

• Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT), including Amtico and Karndean
• Sheet vinyl
• Safety flooring
• Staircases, including more complex installations
• Herringbone and other design-led laying patterns
• Associated trims, profiles and finishing work

It would also be advantageous, but not essential, if you are able to install:

• Laminate flooring
• Engineered wood flooring

You will also undertake appropriate subfloor preparation, including:

• Moisture testing and assessment
• Application of DPM systems where required
• Smoothing compounds
• Plywood preparation
• Feather finishing
• Identification of different subfloor types and potential installation issues

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

• Has proven professional flooring installation experience
• Can install both Luxury Vinyl Tiles and Vinyl/Safety Flooring to a high standard
• Has strong knowledge of subfloor preparation
• Has excellent attention to detail
• Takes pride in achieving a first-class finish
• Can identify and resolve installation problems on site
• Works cleanly, safely and professionally
• Is comfortable working in customers' homes and commercial premises
• Has excellent customer service and communication skills
• Can work independently and as part of an installation team
• Is reliable, organised and punctual
• Understands the importance of protecting customers' property
• Holds a full UK driving licence

Experience installing Amtico and Karndean would be particularly advantageous.

More Than Just Fitting Floors

Our installers represent Carpet Trader in our customers' homes and businesses. You'll therefore be expected to provide the same level of professionalism and customer service on site that customers receive in our showroom.

This includes checking the installation requirements before starting, identifying potential problems, communicating clearly with the customer and office team, taking required before-and-after photographs, and completing installation and customer sign-off documentation accurately.
