Overview
We are seeking a skilled Motorhome and or aMechanical Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be adept at using various hand and power tools. This role involves working with schematics, assembling and maintaining equipment, and providing exceptional customer service. The Mechanical Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and reliability of our machinery.

SOUTHWEST MOTORHOMES

Motorhome Technicians and Mechanical Technicians.

40 hours a week Monday to Friday 8.30am until 5pm with ½ hour for lunch.

(No Weekend or Bank Holidays)

Overtime available in peak periods.

30 days holiday a year including Bank Holidays.

Salary Negotiable dependent upon experience.

Are you an experienced Vehicle Technician capable of Service Motorhomes, Vans or Cars.

Able to complete Cambelts, Brakes, General Servicing, 12v Electrical Repairs etc and happy

to train towards the National Caravan Council Certification Approval along with training on

Gas and 240v installation.

Or are you an experienced Caravan and Motorhome technician looking for a fresh challenge.

We are looking to expand our Workshop team to meet the increasing demand on our

business.

Southwest Motorhomes was established over 20 years ago and is still family owned and

operated based at Ilminster in Somerset just off the A303.

We sell new and used Motorhomes along with a thriving Rental Business and a very busy

workshop solely focused on Motorhomes. We also operate a successful online bespoke part

finder service and an online parts and accessories shop.

The business has grown dramatically since the Covid 19 pandemic and shows no sign of

slowing down.

The range of jobs can vary every day and include:

PDI Inspections on new Motorhomes

Habitation services on new and used Motorhomes

Mechanical Servicing and repairs.

Gas repairs and installations

Electrical fault finding, repairs and installations both12v and 240v

Heating and Boiler fault finding and repairs

Refrigeration fault finding and repairs

Warranty inspections and repairs

Water ingress and Damp Checks

Accessory fitting: Awnings, TV aerials, WiFi, TV Systems, LPG Refillable gas systems,

Satellite

Navigation Systems, Reversing cameras, Solar Panels, Inverters and Battery upgrades.

Basic or detailed Carpentry.

The successful candidates will be:

Self-motivated and able to work alone or as part of a team.

Be able to work under pressure and remain calm in difficult situations and overcome

setbacks.

Able to communicate confidently both verbally and in written form with our customers face to

Face and must be fluent in English.

Want to learn and be part of a growing business.

Have a clean driving licence (C1 is desirable)

Reliable and have a high level of pride in the quality of their work.

Is able to think outside of the box and enjoys problem solving.
