The Opportunity
We are Inkwood Interiors, a specialist window dressing and interiors company based in Kendal. We supply and install curtains, blinds, shutters, external screens, awnings, and smart home-integrated systems across the Lake District, Scotland, Yorkshire, and Lancashire.
This is not a simple fitting role. It is a varied, technical, and genuinely rewarding position for someone who wants to build real expertise across a wide range of products and technologies — and grow with us as the business develops.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Installing curtains, blinds, shutters, conservatory blinds, external screens, awnings, and outdoor structures
- Carrying out surveys and measurements, and quoting for standard blind projects
- Installing and programming low voltage electrical products and integrating with smart home systems
- Advising customers and colleagues on product and electrical requirements
- Liaising with electricians and smart home installers on more complex projects
What We’re Looking For
We are open to experienced candidates and those earlier in their career with the right aptitude. What matters most:
- Practical and technically capable — confident working with your hands
- Comfortable with IT, programming, and technology
- Self-motivated and able to use initiative
- Great with customers and colleagues
- Full UK driving licence — essential
- CSCS card — desirable but not essential
What We Offer
- Salary negotiable depending on experience
- Fully equipped company van and all tools provided
- 28 days holiday (inc. bank holidays) plus one extra day per year of service (up to 5)
- Monday to Friday
- Real opportunity to grow the role and develop with the business
- Full training and support provided
How to Apply
We will appoint as soon as we find the right person — no closing date. We are happy to have an informal chat before you commit to a formal application.
