Junior Installation Assistant (Construction)
Location: Crieff, Perthshire (with travel to Glasgow and Edinburgh)
Hourly Rate: £14.00 – £15.00 per hour (on a self-employed basis)
Hours: Part-time, 2 to 4 days per week (dependent on workload)
About the Role
An experienced installer is seeking a reliable Junior Installation Assistant to help with the construction and installation of high-quality pergolas, awnings, and garage doors. This is an excellent opportunity for a local 18–24-year-old looking to gain hands-on experience in the construction trade, earn a competitive hourly rate, and work flexible days.
The role is based out of Crieff. You will meet the lead installer at the local lock-up to prepare for the day, and then travel together to installation sites across Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the manual installation and construction of outdoor pergolas, retractable awnings, and domestic garage doors.
- Meeting at the Crieff lock-up at the start of the shift to load the company van with required materials and products.
- Efficiently unpacking tools and materials on-site, and ensuring all equipment is securely packed away back into the van at the end of the day.
- Handling heavy lifting safely, including moving construction components, structural parts, and heavy tools.
- Maintaining a tidy, safe working environment on-site and inside the vehicle.
Requirements
- Must be local to Crieff or the immediate surrounding area to ensure reliable morning meetups at the lock-up.
- Must be physically fit and capable of consistent heavy lifting and manual labour.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a willing attitude to learn on the job.
- Registered as self-employed (or willing to register) for tax purposes.
- Prior experience in labouring or construction is a bonus but not essential; reliability and attitude are the priorities.
