Full job description
We are looking for a reliable and physically fit Awning Fitter’s Mate/Driver to assist with the delivery, installation, and servicing of awnings, canopies, and other outdoor shading systems. This role involves manual handling, supporting the lead installer, and driving company vehicles to various job sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist lead awning installer on-site with fitting and removing awnings and related structures
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently
- Drive company van to and from job sites across [region/UK], maintaining safe and responsible driving practices
- Support in measuring, positioning, and securing awnings
- Handle tools and equipment under supervision
- Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of the vehicle and tools
- Follow all site safety rules and company procedures
- Provide excellent customer service and represent the company professionally on-site
- Report any site issues, delays, or equipment concerns to the supervisor
- Occasionally assist with warehouse or workshop duties as required
Requirements:
- Full UK driving licence (clean preferred)
- Physically fit and able to handle heavy lifting and working at height
- Punctual, reliable, and willing to learn
- Previous experience in a similar role or within construction/trade environments is an advantage
- Good communication skills and a team player attitude
- Flexible with start/finish times depending on job locations and workloads
- CSCS card (preferred but not essential – training can be provided)
