Axcis are seeking enthusiastic, dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to join an exceptional team at an outstanding-rated specialist primary provision. The school supports a small number of pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and other complex needs. Each pupil at this school has an Education, Health and Care Plans to ensure a nurturing educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism
- Assisting with classroom activities and helping pupils engage in their education.
- Work collaboratively with the wider support team at the school
- Providing tailored, 1:1 and group support to help pupils reach their full potential
- Support the students with improving communication, social skills and independence.
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Has proven experience working with children with SEND, particularly pupils with moderate learning difficulties and autism.
- Can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
- Is calm, patient and resilient, with excellent behaviour management skills
- Has excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- Confidence supporting pupils with a range of learning and communication needs
