Programme Details
As a Degree Apprentice Network Engineer, you’ll study towards a Level 6 Digital & Technology Solutions Professional apprenticeship with a specialism in Network Engineering.
This is a degree-level programme delivered in partnership with the University of Suffolk . Successful completion of the qualification is required to remain in the role.
• Duration: 51 months
• Study time: 20% of your working hours dedicated to learning

Apprentice Network Engineer – Level 6 Digital and Technology Solutions
Location: Adastral Park, Martlesham Heath, Ipswich, IP5 3RE
Start date: 7 September 2026
Salary: £25,239
Contract: Full-time, paid apprenticeship
Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday–Friday)
Essential Entry Requirements
- Three A Levels at grade BCC or above (or equivalent).
- Five GCSEs at grade 4–9 (C or above) including English and Maths.
Right to Work
All applicants must have full UK Right to Work for the full 51month duration of the programme. Without this, we cannot accept an application.

What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll work alongside experienced engineers in our Fixed Networks division, contributing to the design, build and optimisation of largescale IP networks. You’ll support major projects that keep millions of customers connected, learning how to diagnose complex issues, introduce new technologies and continuously improve performance across the UK network.
Day to Day Responsibilities
- Contribute to designing and testing networks that are secure, resilient and innovative.
- Work with colleagues to test and validate vendor configurations so they align with our design standards.
- Explore and evaluate new hardware platforms, line cards and software versions to ensure they perform reliably.
- Create and maintain clear documentation, including test plans, test cases and test scopes, to support wider teams.
- Help introduce automation that makes our work more efficient and reduces repetitive tasks.
- Review test results to identify any issues or risks and share these insights to support continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to make sure solutions are ready for real-world deployment.
- An interest in technology — even if you’re still building your confidence or experience.
- Curiosity about how networks work and a desire to help improve them.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills — we value people who enjoy learning with others.
- Openness to developing new skills, trying new things and growing through hands on experience.
