Choose your route. Build your skills. Shape your career.
At BWB, our Graduate Civil Engineer opportunity gives you the choice to explore the area of engineering that interests you most. Whether you’re drawn to Property & Structural Engineering, Infrastructure & Roads, or Water, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and technicians who will support you in developing your technical skills, gaining practical experience and building a career you’re proud of.
You’ll start by getting involved in real projects and developing your skills through hands-on experience. As your confidence grows, so will your responsibility, giving you the opportunity to progress onto larger and more challenging projects.
What you’ll be doing
As a Graduate Civil Engineer, you’ll be involved in the design and delivery of a wide variety of projects, working as part of a supportive and collaborative team.
You’ll:
-
Produce design solutions, drawings, calculations and technical information, supported by experienced engineers and technicians.
-
Gain practical experience on smaller projects before progressing to larger and more complex schemes.
-
Work across a wide variety of projects and sectors, each with its own challenges, constraints and opportunities to develop your skills.
-
Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, clients and other disciplines to develop effective and sustainable solutions.
-
Apply engineering principles, industry standards and design guidance to real-world projects.
-
Develop your understanding of how different engineering disciplines come together to deliver successful projects.
-
Take increasing responsibility for your work as your technical knowledge, confidence and experience develop.
-
Contribute to projects that help shape the places where people live, work and travel, supporting sustainable growth and improving communities.
Choose the route that’s right for you
One of the great things about starting your career at BWB is that you can choose the area of civil engineering that best matches your interests and ambitions.

What you’ll bring
We’re looking for graduates who are curious, enthusiastic and excited to build a career in civil engineering.
You’ll ideally have:
