Full job description

Haddenham Garden Centre is a family owned business which has been established for over 45 years. Our popular restaurant “The Gardener’s Retreat” has a state of the art kitchen and focuses on homemade, locally sourced food and drink.

We are looking for a passionate Baker who drives for standards and results as well as having a passion for serving great food.

The position is part time (8 hours per week) and the hours of work will be split across two weekdays. The exact working days and hours are flexible.

Do you have?

  • Great baking and culinary skills
  • Team player who is able work closely with the Bakery Chef.
  • Ability to organise workload and work on own initiative
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn

You will also be a great communicator, calm under pressure and driven by creating high quality food.

As a Bakery Assistant you would:

  • Assist with the preparation and baking of fresh homemade scones, cookies, cakes and savoury products.
  • Follow recipes accurately, ensuring all products meet the required quality, consistency and presentation standards.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene and health and safety at all times.
  • Work closely with the Bakery Chef to meet daily production requirements and ensure products are ready for service.
  • Ensure ingredients, equipment and finished products are correctly prepared, stored, labelled and rotated.
