The opportunity

BA Photography and Creative Industries is looking for a Photographer / Designer with experience in graphic design, image-making and publication making to teach on a first-year unit called Publishing and Social Change. We want someone who collaborates, provokes, and builds studio culture — someone who treats the classroom like a working creative studio, helping students to produce editorial projects which innovate in mixing research, archiving , writing and image-making tell new stories about music, subculture and style. Strong candidates will have a personal portfolio spanning printed and online publishing — photobooks, zines, editorial features, digital platforms, or a genuine hybrid of the two.

Highly valued skills includes:

  • Adobe InDesign / Davinci Resolve — for moving image or multi-format storytelling
  • Print production knowledge — pre-press, paper stock, binding, working with printers
  • Social & digital publishing tools — Canva, Figma or Web Builders used as genuine editorial channels
  • Familiarity with AI image and workflow tools (Midjourney, Firefly, Photoshop Generative Fill) — critically applied, not just decoratively
