Staff Nurse - Oncology
The Christie Private Care, Manchester
Full time, 37.5 hours per week

Temporary position until April 2027

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience + Benefits

We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Oncology Unit at The Christie Private Care—an outstanding, specialist cancer centre developed in partnership with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a nurse with a background in acute medicine who is looking to transition into Oncology and develop their career within a world-renowned cancer care environment. We are particularly keen to hear from nurses who have experience managing complex patients, delivering intravenous therapies, and thriving in fast-paced clinical settings.

At The Christie Private Care, you will be part of a dedicated oncology service offering a complete cancer care pathway—including diagnostics, inpatient, surgical, day case and outpatient treatment—all under one roof. Rated “Outstanding” by the CQC, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional patient care, supported by cutting-edge treatments, leading consultants, and a strong multidisciplinary approach.

This is a unique opportunity to build your oncology expertise within a highly specialised, supportive environment, with access to ongoing training and development in cancer care.

As a Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for supporting the experienced nursing team to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate high standards of specialist care to ensure that patients are cared for in a safe, caring and comfortable environment. This will include meeting their medical, physical and emotional needs by effectively communicating with the patient and their families.

Here at HCA Healthcare we continually invest in our colleagues, and this role is no different. We will support you to develop your knowledge and skills in oncology specialist nursing, which includes being trained to administer the Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatments (SACT), stem cell administration and various new anti-cancer treatments. It’s a great opportunity for a Staff Nurse looking to take the next step in their career and develop in depth specialist knowledge.

At HCA UK we care about what you care about. We care that you want to deliver the very best care. We care that you want a career you can be proud of. We care that you want working conditions that support your health and wellbeing. Let us care for you and your career, the same way you do for others.

What you’ll bring:

  • NMC Registered nurse

  • NHS or Private Hospital experience

  • Post registration experience within oncology setting desirable
