Looking for flexible work where you're in control of your shifts?
At Valour Recruitment, we're looking for passionate, reliable and experienced Residential Support Workers to join our growing team, supporting children's homes across the North West.
We understand that everyone's circumstances are different. Whether you're looking for regular shifts, additional income alongside your full-time job or occasional work that fits around your personal commitments, we offer the flexibility to work when it suits you.
There are no minimum shift requirements, no fixed rotas and no pressure to accept work. Simply let us know your availability and choose from the shifts on offer.
Why join Valour?
- Choose your own shifts – Work on the days that suit you.
- No minimum commitment – Pick up regular work or occasional shifts.
- Competitive rates of pay – We value the experience and dedication of our workers.
- Flexible working opportunities – Ideal for those looking for regular work, extra income or shifts alongside an existing job.
- A variety of shifts – Including 24-hour shifts, waking nights, sleep-ins and daytime shifts.
- Multiple locations – Opportunities across Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and surrounding areas.
- A supportive, approachable team – We're a smaller, specialist agency where you're treated as an individual, not just another number.
About the role
As a Residential Support Worker, you'll provide care and support to children and young people living in residential settings, helping them feel safe, valued and supported.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building positive, trusting relationships with children and young people.
- Supporting daily routines, independence and emotional wellbeing.
- Encouraging participation in activities, education and community outings.
- Following individual care plans, safeguarding procedures and risk assessments.
- Maintaining accurate daily records and relevant documentation.
- Working alongside residential teams to provide consistent, high-quality support.
- Managing challenging situations calmly, professionally and with compassion.
What we're looking for
We're keen to hear from individuals who have experience working within children's residential care and who genuinely enjoy making a difference.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Previous experience working in children's residential homes or similar settings.
- A good understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care and supporting young people with complex needs.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, reliable approach.
- An Enhanced DBS certificate, preferably registered with the Update Service.
- A full UK driving licence (desirable).
A little about Valour Recruitment
We're not your typical recruitment agency.
Valour Recruitment is an independently run, specialist recruitment agency focused exclusively on supporting children's residential services.
With hands-on experience in the sector ourselves, we understand the importance of providing reliable, experienced and compassionate staff.
We pride ourselves on building a close-knit team, offering fair rates of pay and maintaining genuine relationships with the people who work with us.
We believe that flexibility should work both ways. We respect your availability, value your experience and aim to make picking up shifts as straightforward as possible.
Interested in joining us?
Whether you're looking for regular opportunities or simply the freedom to pick up shifts when you want them, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply today and become part of the Valour team.
Please note: Opportunities are offered on a self-employed, assignment-by-assignment basis. Shifts are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.
Pay: £280.00-£330.00 per day
