Bank Support Worker
Job details
Full job description
Drive is a values‑led health and social care organisation supporting people with disabilities to live full and valued lives. We work in partnership with individuals to promote choice, independence and inclusion, supporting people to live the life that matters to them.
Everything we do is guided by our values of:
- Dignity
- Respect
- Inclusion
- Vision
- Empowerment
About the role
We’re recruiting Bank Support Workers to join our flexible workforce.
This is a great opportunity if you:
- are looking for flexible work that fits around other commitments
- want to build experience in social care
- already work in care and are looking for additional shifts
Bank work is flexible — there’s no obligation for us to offer shifts, or for you to accept them. To remain active, you’ll just need to be able to commit to a minimum of three shifts per month.
Shifts can include days, evenings, weekends, public holidays, waking nights and sleep-ins, depending on service needs and your availability.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll be supporting individuals to live the life that matters to them, including:
- Supporting with daily living skills, routines and independence
- Encouraging participation in community and social activities
- Providing practical support such as shopping, cooking and household tasks
- Supporting with personal care and health needs where required
- Promoting choice, dignity and respectful support at all times
- Working in line with Drive’s values, policies and person-centred approach
What we’re looking for:
- People who share our values and approach to support — compassionate, reliable and respectful
- NVQ Level 2 in Care (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards this with our support
- Ideally, experience supporting adults with learning disabilities, or experience in a people‑focused role
- Able to communicate clearly, work as part of a team, and adapt to a range of situations
- Flexible and able to work a variety of shifts
You’ll also need to:
- Be aged 18 or over
- Have the right to work in the UK (we do not offer sponsorship)
- Be willing to register with Social Care Wales and maintain registration
- Hold a full UK driving licence, have access to a vehicle and obtain business insurance
What we offer
- £15.15 per hour (includes holiday pay)
- £65.68 sleep-in payment
- Waking nights paid at time and a third
- 45p mileage allowance
- Free Enhanced DBS check (Adults’ Barred List)
- Paid initial Social Care Wales registration
- Access to training and development
- Opportunities to move into permanent roles
- Refer a Friend scheme
- Company pension
Looking for something more permanent?
If you’re looking for guaranteed hours, we also have permanent Support Worker roles available, with full support to achieve your qualification.
