Full job description

The Beeches Hotel is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and hands-on Bar & Restaurant Manager / Duty Manager to join our management team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate hospitality professional to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of our bar and restaurant while also fulfilling Duty Manager responsibilities across the hotel. We are looking for someone who leads by example, thrives in a busy environment, and is committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences.

About the Role

As Bar & Restaurant Manager / Duty Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all food and beverage services, maintaining high standards of customer service, leading and developing the team, and supporting the wider hotel operation.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving guest satisfaction, achieving financial targets, and ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and food hygiene regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operation of the bar and restaurant.
  • Lead, motivate and develop the Food & Beverage team.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and guest experiences.
  • Manage staffing levels, rotas and labour costs.
  • Monitor stock control, ordering and inventory management.
  • Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally.
  • Support the planning and delivery of events, functions and seasonal promotions.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, licensing and health & safety requirements.
  • Undertake Duty Manager shifts and take responsibility for the overall hotel operation when required.
  • Support other departments to ensure smooth and efficient hotel operations.

About You

You will have:

  • Previous management or supervisory experience within a hotel, restaurant, bar or hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach to management.
  • A passion for customer service and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Festive Trading Commitment

December is one of our busiest and most important periods of the year. The successful candidate must be available to work throughout all key festive trading dates, including:

  • Christmas Eve
  • Christmas Day
  • Boxing Day
  • New Year's Eve
  • New Year's Day
