JOB DESCRIPTION – BAR PERSON

About us
Lavery's is Belfast's oldest family-owned bar. Spanning three floors we have been at the heart of the city's social scene for over 100 years. With a full kitchen serving all areas we also have a number of newly refurbished beer gardens.

Title: Bartender

Responsible to: Shift Supervisors, Duty Managers, and Heads of Departments, Assistant General Manager, General Manager & Directors

Main purpose of Job: To provide a friendly and efficient service within the bar, dispensing orders accurately, with courtesy and to a high standard.

Person Specification:

Essential Requirements:

  • Have proof of right to work in the UK

  • Have a fixed place of residence & live within reasonable traveling distance to place of work, taking into consideration travel when public transport is not available

JOB DESCRIPTION – BAR PERSON

Main Duties:

  • To report for duty on time and in the correct uniform.
  • To ensure that the bar area is kept clean at all times.
  • Follow rigidly and observe all hygiene regulations.
  • To deal with any customer complaints in a professional manner and to notify management of these.
  • To ensure that the customers needs and requirements are met.
  • To ensure a high standard of personal hygiene and grooming.
  • To ensure that all reasonable care is taken for the health and safety of yourself, other employees, guests and other persons on the premises.
  • To observe all safety procedures and rules.
  • To attend all training courses as notified to you by management.
  • To carry out any other duties as may be notified to you by management.
  • To ensure that all fire doors are closed and that fire routes are kept clear at all times.
  • To be aware and comply with company policy regarding: Fire, Health & Safety, Hygiene, Food Hygiene, Customer Care & Security.
  • Collect bottles/glassware efficiently
  • Clean seating areas, toilets, floors and corridors
  • Restock glassware and fridges
  • Remove recycling and rubbish from bars
  • Serve and present beverages, quickly and efficiently, meeting our standards
  • Keep up to date with current promotions and new products
  • Make customers aware of offers on our great food and drink range
  • Maintain personal knowledge by completing in-house training and workbooks
  • Be involved and contribute at team meetings

Occasional Duties:

  • To attend meeting/training sessions as required.
  • To carry out any other reasonable request made by Management.
  • During peak times it may be necessary to work in other similar related departments
