Bar Supervisor – Full Time

The Shipyard Bar

We’re looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Bar Supervisor to join our team full time at The Shipyard Bar.

This isn’t just about running a bar shift. We’re looking for someone who wants to take ownership, bring ideas to the table and help us build and grow the business.

The Role

As Bar Supervisor, you’ll work closely with the management team and play a key role in the day-to-day running and future development of the venue.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supervising the bar team during shifts
  • Taking responsibility for the venue when required
  • Opening and closing the premises
  • Cash handling, tills, floats and end-of-night procedures
  • Delivering and maintaining excellent customer service
  • Delegating duties and ensuring standards are maintained throughout every shift
  • Managing busy periods, functions and entertainment nights
  • Dealing confidently and professionally with customer queries or difficult situations
  • Ensuring licensing procedures and responsible alcohol service are followed at all times
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the venue
  • Stock replenishment, rotation and assisting with deliveries and stock control
  • Supporting and training new and existing members of staff
  • Reporting staffing, stock, maintenance and operational issues to management
  • Helping develop events, entertainment, promotions and new ideas to increase footfall and grow the business
  • Working alongside management to create a welcoming venue that customers want to return to

What We’re Looking For

You must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar bar/hospitality role and hold a valid Scottish Personal Licence.

We’re looking for someone who is confident, reliable and organised, with the ability to lead and motivate a team. You should be comfortable using your own initiative and making decisions when required.

Most importantly, we want someone with drive and enthusiasm who genuinely wants to help build the business, rather than simply turn up and run their allocated shifts.

Availability for evenings, weekends and late finishes is essential.

Job Type: Full-timeExperience: Bar/Hospitality – minimum 2 yearsLicence: Scottish Personal Licence – essential
