Hourly salary: An OTE Hourly Rate of £15.30 per hour

Join White Rabbit Hospitality as a Waiter/Waitress, The Randolph, Oxford

Beaumont Street. The Ashmolean across the road, dreaming spires above you, and a Grade II listed landmark that has been serving Oxford since 1866. If you want your waiter/waitress career to happen somewhere that actually means something, start here.

We are White Rabbit Hospitality, and we run some of the most distinctive hotels and restaurants in the UK and Europe: The Randolph Oxford, Rusacks St Andrews, Graduate Cambridge, Ember Locke Kensington, and Santa Joana, Lisbon. We are now looking for a Waiter/Waitress to join the front of house team at The Randolph, one of the best-known hospitality jobs in Oxford city centre.

This is not a role where you memorise a script and carry plates. Our guests are Oxford locals marking birthdays, academics mid-argument, families on their first visit, and travellers who chose The Randolph for a reason. You will be the person who reads the table, remembers the detail, and turns a booking into a story they tell afterwards.

Everything we do runs through four values: Hospitality is at our core, We do the right thing, We pursue excellence, and We are all entrepreneurs. Here is what they look like on a busy Saturday service.

Our Values, In Every Service

HOSPITALITY IS AT OUR CORE – You notice the empty glass before it is pointed out, the guest who wants to talk and the one who does not. Warmth first, always.

WE DO THE RIGHT THING – You are honest about the wait, straight with your team, and careful with allergens and licensing every single time.

WE PURSUE EXCELLENCE – You know the menu, the wine list and the specials properly, and you take pride in a table that looks right before the food arrives.

WE ARE ALL ENTREPRENEURS – You spot the upsell that genuinely improves the guest's meal, suggest a better way to run the section, and treat the floor as yours.

What Will You Be Doing?

Working across our restaurant, bar and lounge service, you will:

  • Welcome and look after guests from arrival through to farewell, across breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and the Morse Bar
  • Take orders accurately, describe dishes and drinks with confidence, and make recommendations that land
  • Deliver food and beverage service to standard, keeping pace without losing polish
  • Handle allergen and dietary requirements with complete accuracy
  • Set, clear and reset your section so the room is always guest ready
  • Process payments and manage table administration correctly
  • Support afternoon tea, private dining and event service when required
  • Work as one team with the kitchen, bar and reception

What Do You Need?

  • A genuine enjoyment of looking after people, experience welcome but attitude first
  • Clear, confident communication in English
  • The stamina and composure to hold standards through a full service
  • Attention to detail, particularly around dietary requirements and cash handling
  • Flexibility across a seven day rota including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, bar or café is an advantage, full training is provided either way
  • Right to work in the UK

What We Offer:

Aside from an OTE hourly rate of £15.30 per hour, we provide:

  • Service charge paid through a transparent Tronc scheme
  • Meals on duty every shift
  • Team member discount across the White Rabbit portfolio, including our restaurants and hotels
  • Discounted stays at our hotels in Oxford, Cambridge, St Andrews, London and Lisbon
  • Structured training and clear progression into senior and supervisory roles
  • Employee assistance programme and wellbeing support
  • Refer a friend bonus
  • Recognition schemes and team socials

Plenty of our supervisors, head waiters and restaurant managers started exactly where you are about to. Tell us where you want to go and we will build the training around it, whether that is wine knowledge, cocktails, events or your first leadership role.

Ready To Serve Something Memorable?

If you want a waiter or waitress job in Oxford with real standards, a proper team and a building people travel to see, we would love to hear from you.

Apply now to become a Waiter/Waitress with White Rabbit Hospitality, The Randolph, Oxford.
