Food and Beverage Assistant

PERMANENT POSITION

Salary £28,392 per annum

40 Hours per week (shift work including mornings, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays, with no split shifts)

Phyllis Court is a private members club situated in a grand riverside manor, set in 18 acres of land with 17 guest bedrooms on the River Thames in Henley-On-Thames and spectacular views over the river & the countryside beyond.

The Role

The Food and Beverage Assistant role reports to the Supervisor and works as part of a small team responsible for ensuring our Members receive a warm and friendly welcome and any queries are dealt with in an efficient and professional manner. You will be expected to deliver exceptional service to both Club Members and Guests alike, keeping good cleanliness, and health & safety to the forefront of all you do.

Responsibilities will include

  • Be responsible for the day to day running of service within the guidelines set by management and the departments standard operating procedures (SOPS) e.g., setting up the bar/restaurant, health and safety measures, taking food and drink orders from Members accurately and charging correctly.
  • Assist with room set ups, table clearing, food delivery, beverage preparation and delivery.
  • Train on and build food and beverage knowledge to know and understand the menus and offer food, wine, and beverage suggestions.
  • Complete all assigned training within timeframes given.
  • Keep Member and work areas clean with a Clean As You Go standard adherence.
  • Keep work area well stocked at beginning and end of shift.
  • Support a strong collaborative team environment maintaining friendly positive behaviour with Colleagues and Members.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous working experience in restaurants, bars or events.
  • Experience held working in customer service
  • Organised approach to work, including ability to prioritise in a busy environment.
  • Great customer service approach and ability to ability to escalate issues as required.
