We are an independent family run unique luxury boutique Hotel and Restaurant nestled in the Suffolk countryside seven miles from Ipswich. We have recently expanded our business and opened our new Spa and Wedding Venue.

JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION:

The Night Porter is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, cleanliness, and smooth operation of the premises during overnight hours. This role often combines front desk duties, security checks, light cleaning, and guest support.

Key Responsibilities

· Monitor the building throughout the night to ensure safety and security

· Carry out regular patrols of public areas and external grounds

· Respond to guest or resident requests and handle issues professionally

· Manage late check-ins, early check-outs, or reception duties

· Perform light cleaning tasks (lobbies, hallways, restrooms, etc.)

· Be able to serve behind the bar if required

· Handle emergencies and follow night-time procedures

· Complete logs, reports, and handovers for the morning team

· Secure doors, windows, and access points

Skills & Requirements

· Reliable and punctual

· Able to work independently with minimal supervision

· Good communication and customer service skills

· Basic cleaning and maintenance knowledge

· Calm and responsible in emergency situations

· Physically able to walk, stand, and carry out light manual tasks

· Previous hospitality or security experience is a plus (but not always required)

Personal Qualities

· Trustworthy and observant

· Friendly but professional manner

· Good attention to detail

· Comfortable working overnight hours
