Full job description

The Ox Pub & Rooms is seeking an experienced and energetic Front of House Manager to lead our guest-facing operations and support our growing events and accommodation offering. You’ll work closely with our Hotel & Ox 2 Events Manager to deliver exceptional service across the pub, rooms, and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Operations — Oversee all FOH service, ensuring smooth bar, restaurant, and shift management.
  • Bar Leadership — Maintain high standards of bar service, product knowledge, speed, and consistency.
  • Cellar Management — Take full responsibility for cellar operations, including line cleaning, stock rotation, deliveries, and maintaining perfect product quality.
  • Team Leadership — Recruit, train, and motivate FOH staff.
  • Guest Experience — Ensure exceptional service and resolve guest issues promptly.
  • Rooms Coordination — Support check-ins, check-outs, and communication with housekeeping.
  • Event Support — Work closely with the Hotel & Ox 2 Events Manager to deliver weddings, private dining, and celebrations.
  • Stock & Compliance — Manage stock levels, cash handling, and licensing compliance.
  • Reporting — Assist the GM with rotas, cost control, and operational reporting.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven FOH leadership experience in pubs, restaurants, or boutique hotels
  • Strong bar skills and excellent cellar management — essential
  • Confident supporting events and coordinating multiple departments
  • Strong communication and people-management skills
  • A passion for hospitality and guest satisfaction

Pay: From £30,000.00 per year
